Time is Money: Q&A Episode 11 with John and Mike
Happy Sunday! It’s been one week since the time change in the US. We sprung forward an hour. If you live in the US – have you adjusted yet? I personally like having it get brighter an hour earlier, but it sure does make for long dark mornings when you get up at 3:30am. Yup – That’s normally when I get up. I want to get my personal workout in first and have enough time not to feel rushed.
This morning I was a bit later, because I made the mistake of sitting at my desk and checking on e-mail, etc. I know better normally. I get sucked into that so easily, thinking, I’ll just answer this really quickly, or take care of that now, etc. And before, I know it, an hour (or more) has passed. So my typical morning is get up, jump in the shower, put on the clothes I laid out the night before, grab the coffee I scheduled the night before, get my gallon of water out of the fridge, head out the door, and drive right to the gym. Today was a lesson as to why I have that routine. However, since it’s Sunday, the gym was still quite even at 5:45am and I was able to get a fantastic workout in. Today was chest and abs and cardio.
For those of you who don’t know, I’m entered into a Men’s Physique competition in June in Riverside, CA. I’ve been training for it and I’m just beginning my strict cut for the show. As of today, I’m 89 days out from the show. That’s just over 12 weeks. GULP! I have set up a page for this journey called, Take It Off 2017. And beginning this week, I’ll be doing vlogs that will appear on that page. So if you want, you can follow along or even join me for the next 12 weeks. I’m going to share my diet, workouts, and general lifestyle stuff along the way. I’m really looking forward to doing better than last Novembers program, The Road to Vegas. I hit all of my goals, but I’ve set new and more challenging ones this time around. Stay tuned for the first vlog on that coming this week.
Let’s get back to this week’s Q&A, episode 11! This one is all about your time. My partner, Mike Beauchamp, joined me for the entire episode – which was really fun for me (he said he enjoyed it too). We didn’t plan for him to be there for the actual live portion of the broadcast. We filmed a segment a couple of days before the show. We air live on Thursday at 1PM on our YouTube Channel and our own Live Page on JG TV. We have received quite a few questions about how we deal with clients who late cancel or no show and I thought it would be a great one for Mike to address. He’s our business expert and our customer service expert as well. Once we filmed it, I realized that it would be great to have Mike there live as well to answer questions – and the rest is history. Check it out and be sure to check out the resources below the video too.
As always, if you’ve got a question or topic that you want us to cover, leave it in the comments below.
My guest this week is Mike Beauchamp, my partner, and co-owner of John Garey Fitness and Pilates and John Garey TV. He’s got a very special giveaway for John Garey TV Subscribers.

Here are the details of the contest and a message from Mike Beauchamp, MBA:
Hi everyone! My passion in business is to work with individuals and teams to develop their skills and create success. I’ve been part of John Garey Fitness and Pilates since we started 16 years ago and came on full time 6 years ago, so I know first-hand what it’s like to start and grow a fitness and Pilates studio – through good times and bad. I’ve received a lot of training, coaching and formal education that have helped me and our business along the way.
